Air Fryer Home Fries are crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. They only take 15 minutes to cook and will make any breakfast (or dinner) that much better.

Sometimes I forget how good potatoes are, especially how good they are when they are super crispy and covered in salty smokey seasoning. These home fries were super easy to make with my air fryer.

I used the Ninja Air Fryer to make my potatoes. I’ve had it for about a year and a half, and it still works great!

    Ingredients

    • 4 medium potatoes (russet or Yukon gold), peeled and cut to ½-inch cubes (about the with of your finger)
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon black ground pepper

How to make Air Fryer Home Fries

    1. Preheat the air fryer to 400F degrees.
    2. Toss the potatoes in olive oil and seasoning until coated.
    3. Spray the air fryer with nonstick spray. Add in the potatoes and cook for 15-18 minutes. Take the basket out every 5 minutes to shake.
    4. Serve right away with eggs and bacon for breakfast or with a burger or steak for dinner.

    How to Store Leftovers

Store leftover potatoes in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can reheat them in the air fryer at 350F for 3-5 minutes or until they are warm again. You can also microwave them, they won't be crispy anymore, but they will still be delicious!

    Do you have questions?

Will an air fryer make potatoes crispy?

Yes, these home fries come out very crispy. If your potatoes aren’t crisp enough, try cooking them for 1-2 more minutes. Also, these are at their max crispness right when it comes out of the air fryer. The longer you wait to eat it, the less crispy it will get.

Do you have to preheat an air fryer?

Just like you have to preheat an oven to ensure proper cooking, you need to preheat your air fryer to ensure it can get the crispiest food possible.

    Ingredients

    • 4 medium potatoes russet or Yukon gold, peeled and cut to ½-inch cubes*
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
    • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon onion powder
    • ½ teaspoon black ground pepper

    Instructions

    • Preheat the air fryer to 400F degrees.
    • Toss the potatoes in olive oil and seasoning until coated.
    • Once the air fryer has heated up, spray it with a nonstick spray. Add in the potatoes and cook for 15-18 minutes. Take the basket out every 5 minutes to shake. This will help the potatoes cook evenly. Serve right away.

    Notes

If you don't have a ruler handy, ½ inch is about the width of your finger.
If the potatoes aren't as crispy as you would like, cook them for another 1-2 minutes.
