Ingredient Notes
Ground Chicken - I like to use 92% ground chicken. Any leaner and the burgers will be too dry. You can also use ground turkey in this recipe.
Goat Cheese - You want a soft goat cheese. My go-to is Vermont Creamery Classic Chevre Goat Cheese.
Greek Yogurt - This helps make the cheese spread smoothly and easily. Be sure to use plain, unsweetened Greek yogurt.
Garlic - I use half a clove in the whipped goat cheese, which still gives it a noticeable garlic flavor. If you prefer something milder, you can leave it out.
If you're looking for just a plain version, these Juicy Ground Chicken Burgers are very popular in my home.
How to Make Buffalo Chicken Burger

Make the Whipped Goat Cheese
Blend goat cheese, Greek yogurt, olive oil, garlic, and salt until smooth.

Mix & Shape
Combine ground chicken and buffalo sauce, then form into 4 patties.

Cook the Burgers
Cook in a hot, oiled skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden and cooked through.

Assemble
Toast the buns, spread with goat cheese, then add the burger, lettuce, and tomato.
Tips
- Make sure to use enough oil and have the pan hot when cooking the burgers so they don't stick.
- Ground chicken is soft and sticky. If needed, form into a ball, place in the skillet, and gently press flat using an oiled spatula or parchment paper.
Sides for Your Buffalo Chicken Burgers
Potato Wedges - Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Potatoes and burgers are a classic pairing.
Chips - An easy, no-prep side that always works with burgers.
Mac and Cheese - A simple, one-pot mac and cheese made with just 4 ingredients in about 15 minutes.
Potato Salad - Go with a classic creamy version or a lighter mustard-based vinaigrette.
Fruit Salad - A fresh, flavorful side that's especially good in the summer.
Common Question
Yes, ground turkey is a great substitute if you can find ground chicken. Turkey burgers and chicken burgers taste very similar.
Yes, but would omit the garlic, and since blue cheese has a different texture, I would mix in 2 oz of room temperature cream cheese and a splash of water.
Nope. Ground chicken binds well when gently mixed, resulting in tender, juicy burgers. However, overmixing can cause the patties to fall apart.

- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil and let it heat for a few minutes. Add the patties and cook for 4 minutes without moving, until a golden crust forms. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Lightly toast the burger buns in a skillet or toaster until golden.
- Spread whipped goat cheese on the buns, then add the burger, lettuce, and tomato and extra buffalo sauce. Serve immediately.
