30 Minute Healthy Turkey Taco Burger combines the best of both worlds- Tacos and Burgers! Easy and versatile. Perfect for a weeknight meal!
I love a good healthy turkey burger. Since I don't have a grill (apartment life), I have to cook all my burgers on the skillet. Cooking beef burgers in a skillet produce a lot of greases and a big mess. Turkey burgers produce very little grease and are healthier!! I'm always on the lookout for a good turkey burger recipe. Taco Turkey burger is the best way to spice up turkey burger night! 😋
Ingredients
Pepper Jack Cheese - I like a little spice, but you can always use Monterey jack, shredded Mexican, or cheddar
Tomato- Diced, sliced, it just feels right to have tomatoes on a turkey taco burger
Sauteed Onions - Sauteeing the onions does add an extra step, but they are just so good. These onions might be my favorite; I pile them high on my burger. If you're short on time, you can skip cooking the onions and use raw, or skip the onions altogether. There is still plenty of flavor in this burger.
Avocado- Maybe the second best part of the burger, creamy mashed Avacado. I like to mix in a little bit of salt and red pepper flakes to my smashed avocado.🥑
Creamy Cilantro Sauce- Sour cream, cilantro, lime, and garlic. This sauce is so good. It's creamy, cilantro-ie, and garlicky. Yum Yum!
You can serve these Healthy Turkey Taco Burgers with chips and salsa, rice, or corn and beans.
Store the turkey patties in the fridge for up to 4 days. The Cilantro lime sauce and sauteed onions will last up to 4 days too. Only smash the avocados if you are eating them right away.
